Since founding the firm in 2011, Matt has represented a diverse range of clients in both transactional and litigation matters. Matt focuses assisting clients with startup formation and corporate transactions. He has assisted a number of founders and entrepreneurs in a variety of industries with the foundation and scaling of their businesses. Additionally, Matt has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, equity transactions, entity formation, commercial real estate, and corporate governance and representation of privately held businesses. Currently, Matt serves on the American Bar Association’s Joint Task Force for drafting and maintaining Model Short-Form Acquisitions Agreements.

For the eighth year in a row, he has been named an “Leading Lawyer” in Illinois for Closely & Privately Held Business Representation as well as Mergers & Acquisitions Law, a recognition earned by the top 2% of attorneys in Illinois in their areas of practice. Matt received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University and his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law.

Outside of the office, Matt’s favorite roles are husband to his wife Anna, and dad to his three sons, and dog, Ernie. He spends his weekends coaching his sons’ sports teams, pursuing a black belt in Taekwondo alongside his oldest son, and assisting his sons with various Lego creations.
